2008 Youth Players of the Week

Week 10

Morgan Erla

13 year old
Cass City


Morgan was 8 for 11 in the Frankenmuth
Tournament against first place BPA qualifier Michigan Wildcats from Battle Creek.

He also threw a no-hit shutout in a 2-0 victory over Pigeon, with  7 K's, 1 HBP, and 2 walks.

Morgan also was 2 for 3 with 2 2B's and 2 RBI's.  Way to go Morgan!

Week 9
Jacob Alarie

Bay City SWLL - Auto Tec


Jacob played a huge role in helping Auto Tech win the A Championship in the Bay County Little League Tournament.

At the Bay County Tournament Jacob was 6 for 10 with 2 Homeruns, 2 doubles, 10 RBI's and 6 runs scored.  Way to go Jacob !!

Week 8
Cole Brooks

Bay City SWLL - USWA


Cole had some big extra base hits this past weekend.  Cole hit two homeruns and a double for USWA in SWLL Major Division, quite an accomplishment for a 10 year old player.

Cole also had 2 doubles and a triple in helping his 10 and under Riverdawg Team win the Championship at Richfield Renegades Tournament.

Johnathan Hardy

Johnathan had a big week with the bat and on the mound for Gephart's.  At the plate he was 8 for 8 with 10 RBI's, 6 Doubles, 4 runs, 1 BB.

In three innings on the mound Johnathan recorded 7 strikouts.

Week 7

Mason Erla

Major Division - Cass City Little League


At the Canton Memorial Tournament Mason helped the Runners-up Riverdawgs by recording 9 strikeouts allowing 2 hits in 9-2 victory over the Saline Storm over 4 innings.

Mason also helped his Little League Squad defeat the first place team in a 3-1 victory allowing only 3 hits and striking out 12.  Mason Helped his cause by going 2 for 2 at the plate.

Week 6

Justin Gorr

For the week Justin was 9 for 13 with 2 triples, 2 doubles, 7 runs, and 10 RBI's.

Pitching - Justin threw 9 innings in 2 games allowing only 2 runs and struck out 17 batters.

Zach Goik

Zach had great week at the plate going 9 for 14, with 5 RBIs and 2 walks and 8 runs scored in three games at Southwest Little League last week.

Zach's 11 and under Riverdawg Team will be competing this weekend in the Canton Memorial USSSA National Invitational.

Zach helped the Riverdawgs advance to the semifinals in the rain shortened Waco Wolves Classic.  For the weekend Zach was 6 for 11, 1 triple, 1 double, 5 RBI's.  He also earned the win in a victory vs. Oakland in pool play.

Zach provided some key hits in victories for Scotts including a 2 run homer vs. Grampa Tony's and 3 run bases loaded triple vs. Williams Cheese.  Zach also pitched some big innings in a 16 strikeout victory vs. Williams Cheese.

Week 3

Young Taylor stole the show as he dominated Bosco Food Service with an impressive 16 strikeout and 1 hit performance in 5 2/3 innings on the mound.

Taylor also helped his cause by rapping out 3 hits with 3 RBI's.  Way to go Taylor.

Pitched 5 innings allowing 1 hit with 8 K's.

Sam helped the Dawgs this past weekend qualify for the BPA 13 and under World Series.
